Here is a cool specimen of Kainops raymondi from the Lower Devonian of Oklahoma. This trilobite is differentiated from Paciphacops by the larger number of lenses in the eyes. This specimen is complete and nicely preserved. The bug is very 3-dimensional and exhibits fine detail. The granulose glabella is nicely displayed, and the compound eyes of the trilobite are quite evident. The thick-shelled, caramel-colored trilobite contrasts wonderfully with the light-colored matrix. The distinct bug is well showcased on the sculpted block of limestone. This is a displayable example of this large-eyed Phacopid trilobite from the Haragan Formation.
