This is a rare US trilobite. It is a large, complete Amecephalus piochensis from the Chisholm Formation of Nevada. This specimen was acquired years ago from the famous Doug DeRosear Collection. The trilobite is beautifully articulated and complete down to the tiny pygidium, which is extremely unusual. The free cheeks are present and tightly attached, and the LONG genal spines are complete to the very tips. And there are two features of this fossil that makes it extremely collectible - there are two predation "bites" easily seen on the right side of the trilobite, and this is a SPLIT PAIR fossil - both the part and the counterpart are present and offered together! This is a very collectible US trilobite acquired from the Middle Cambrian of Nevada.
