This is an amazing association of Devonian trilobites. These are Paciphacops campbelli (top) and Kettneraspis williamsi from the Haragan Formation of Oklahoma. This specimen was found by Steve Hess in 1998 and prepared in the EXTINCTIONS Preparation Lab. Both trilobites exhibit super detail - the Paciphacops has the compound eye facets preserved, and Kettneraspis has its long spines beautifully displayed. The extremely unusual feature of this fossil is that the trilobites are touching each other - it is extremely unusual in the fossil record where trilobites of two different species are actually touching!. And the trilobites are FULLY NATURAL - the fossils have not been added or composited together! This is an extremely collectible specimen with two very different trilobites making contact.
