This is a very spiny trilobite. It is a semi-unprepared Comura bultyncki from the Devonian of Morocco. This specimen was recently acquired from the Richard Busch Collection. Busch was the Preparator/Asst. Curator at the North Museum in Lancaster, PA from 1965-1992. There are many long, vertical spines on this trilobite, still buried in the rock! This specimen is nicely prone and well articulated. The long, sweeping pleural spines and pygidial spines are preserved - even compound eye facets are seen! The trilobite has been "roughed out" of a cross section to see if the trilobite was complete, and the final prep is all this specimen needs to be a really cool display piece. This is an extremely affordable example of this highly collectible trilobite from Morocco.
