This is a very nice specimen of Dalmanites limulurus from the Rochester Shale of New York. The large trilobite is prone and exhibits fine detail. The long genal spines are quite evident, and the long caudal spine is easily seen. The crescent-shaped compound eyes protrude above the sleek carapace of this wonderfully articulated trilobite. The brownish-black bug contrasts nicely with the substantial plate od shale. This is a very nice, large example of Dalmanites limulurus from the Silurian of New York.
