This is a classic US trilobite. It is a complete Wanneria walcottana from the Brubaker's Quarry, Lancaster, Pennsylvania. This specimen was found in 1984, and has been in a collection ever since. This large trilobite is a true Wanneria, which is much rarer than Olenellus in the fossil record. The trilobite is complete down to the bilobate pygidium - it is extremely rare for a Wanneria to still have the tiny pygidium intact and well displayed, especially from this locality. The bug is nicely inflated, and the overall detail is quite nice. This is an excellent example of this rare Lower Cambrian trilobite from a locality that has been closed for over 25 years!
