This is a very uncommon trilobite. It is a Kootenia sp. from British Columbia, Canada. This trilobite was found decades ago in the same area as the famous Burgess Shale! This type of trilobite was named by Charles D. Walcott after the Kootenay River and surrounding area. This specimen is prone and well preserved. The free cheeks are missing, but the rest of the trilobite is quite distinct. The bug displays very well on the large matrix plate. This is a good example of a famous Middle Cambrian trilobite found decades ago.
