This is an extremely unusual trilobite. It is a distinct specimen of Parahomalonotus (?) from the Devonian of Morocco. This trilobite was found in the concretionary Diacalymene zone, not the limestone layers where almost all specimens of this type has been found. This bug is large and beautifully enrolled - this type is very hard to find this compactly enrolled. The trilobite is extremely inflated and very well articulated, except for the tail which seem to be missing. The tiny eyes display well, and the segmentation is even nicely defined. The trilobite has natural dark brown color which contrasts beautifully with the lighter colored concretion. And the best part is that both halves of the concretion are present - the "lid" can be put back on, and the concretion can be displayed "as found", with part of the trilobite sticking out - that's cool! This is a very collectible display example of a rare enrolled Parahomalonotus from the unusual concretionary layers.
