Here is a nice Huntonia lingulifer (Huntoniatonia) from the Devonian of Oklahoma. This specimen was acquired from the famous Eugene Thomas Collection. This fossil was found as a cross section, and has been prepared leaving some of the trilobite still encased in rock, which is pretty cool. The distinct trilobite is very inflated and exhibits nice detail - under magnification, the fine detail can be seen on the shell of the trilobite. The genal spine is free-standing, and the large pygidium has the LONG tailspine present. The beautiful caramel-colored bug contrasts nicely with the lighter-colored matrix. The fossil is well showcased on a large block of sculpted limestone that also contains an enrolled Kainops raymondi. This is a very nice display example of this long-tailed Huntonia lingulifer from Oklahoma.
