This is a fabulous Lower Cambrian trilobite. It is a striking Olenellus chiefensis from the Pioche Formation of Nevada. This specimen was recently acquired from a major trilobite collection, and you can easily see why. The distinct trilobite is complete including the telson (tailspine). The detail of this trilobite is wonderful - even the long genal and pleural spines are wonderfully showcased. The bug is nicely inflated and beautifully displayed on the large, semi-squared plate of shale. This is one of the most detailed Olenellus chiefensis trilobites we have ever had.
