Here is a classic trilobite from the United States. This is a large Modocia typicalis from the Middle Cambrian of Utah. This trilobite is very prone and very nicely articulated. Both free cheeks are present, and the eyes are well displayed. The bug is somewhat inflated and exhibits excellent detail. The sharply-pointed pleural spines are intact and easily seen. This trilobite has gorgeous natural color - the chocolate brown fossil contrasts beautifully with the pinkish-orange matrix (better than the photos show). The bug is well displayed on the large plate of shale. This is a fabulous example of a very large Modocia typicalis from the Marjum Shale.
