This is a beautiful, classic US trilobite. It is a prone Eldredgeops milleri (Phacops rana milleri) from Ohio. This type is known for its large faceted compound eyes - this specimen doesn't disappoint, the eye facets are flawless. The bug is nicely outstretched and is slightly contraflexed, which gives it some character. The trilobite displays beautifully on the large, natural plate of matrix. This is a simply a fine display example of this famous Devonian trilobite from Ohio.
