Here is a very cool trilobite fossil. This is a large Huntoniatonia (Huntonia) oklahomae tail from the Lower Devonian. This species of Huntonia has a distinct caudal spine - it is beautifully displayed on this specimen. This trilobite pygidium is extremely large - two inches across. The textbook tail exhibits excellent detail - the ridges and ribs are clearly defined. The caramel-color of the fossil contrasts nicely with the light-colored matrix. The fossil is well showcased on the large block of sculpted limestone. This is an excellent study specimen of a classic Huntonia from the Haragan Formation.
