This is a fine specimen of Nephrolenellus geniculatus from the Pioche Formation of Nevada. The trilobite is unusual in the fact that the hypostoma (mouthplate) is exposed in the middle of the trilobite! The natural color of the trilobite is very easily seen. The specimen has a very inflated glabella, which is very distinct. The fossil is nicely showcased on the plate of shale that also contains other trilobite parts. This is a nice specimen of Nephrolenellus from the Lower Cambrian.
