Name:

This is a very large Elrathia kingi from the Middle Cambrian of Utah. Specimens of this trilobite were drilled by Native Americans for adornment purposes and have been found hundreds of miles away from the site. This fine trilobite is complete and nicely articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The specimen has been extracted from the surrounding rock so that it is completely free of matrix. But the most collectible feature on this fossil is that there is a TINY BABY trilobite riding piggy-back on the larger trilobite! The baby is located right where the head meets the body, on the left side of the center lobe - this is extremely rare in the fossil record! This is a very large (one and a half inches long!), ''Jewelry Grade'' example of the classic trilobite, Elrathia kingi, fossilized with a tiny baby trilobite crawling on its back.
