Here is a very scarce trilobite from the Silurian of the US. This is Radnoria sp. from the Rochester Shale of New York. This specimen was acquired from the Eugene Thomas Collection. The distinct trilobite is wonderfully prone and very nicely articulated. Both free cheeks are intact. This specimen is more inflated than most and has very nice exoskeleton preserved. The bug exhibits great detail - the eyes are easily seen and the broad, flat brim of the pygidium is quite evident. The trilobite is well showcased on the small plate of matrix. This is a nice, complete example of this rare trilobite from the Silurian of New York.
