This is a very unusual US trilobite. It is an Unidentified Trilobite from the Weeks Formation of Utah. This specimen looks like an Asaphiscus from the Wheeler Formation, but it came from Weeks Formation rocks. This may be a transitional layer, but one look at the banded red shale and dark grey limestone proves that this is Weeks. Although this is a moult, the thick shell exoskeleton is finely detailed and well preserved. The rich, dark brown bug contrasts beautifully with the natural red-pink matrix. This is a very unusual trilobite from the Weeks Formation of Utah.
Note: This specimen was obtained legally. However, normally it is illegal to sell fossils from the Weeks Formation and other BLM lands.
