This is a very nice trilobite. It is a large Elrathia kingii from Utah. This specimen has great detail and excellent black color. Both free cheeks are intact and tight. The bug was extracted from the surrounding rock, and is now totally free of matrix. These "loose" Elrathia have been found with holes drilled in them by Native Americans for use in necklaces. This is a collectible example of probably the most prolific trilobite in the world.
