This is a nice, large Asaphiscus wheeleri from the Middle Cambrian of Utah. This fine trilobite is complete and nicely articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The fossil has been extracted from the surrounding rock so that it is completely free of matrix. This specimen would make a wonderful ''center stone'' for a unique piece of jewelry. And you can even see the hypostoma (mouthplate) on the back side of the trilobite. This is a large, rare ''Jewelry Grade'' example of the uncommon trilobite, Asaphiscus wheeleri.
