This is a displayable trilobite! It is a distinct Cheirurus ingricus (?) from the Ordovician of Russia. This classic specimen was recently acquired from the famous Chance Collection. This wonderfully articulated bug is well preserved and nicely inflated. The long, curving genal spines are wonderfully displayed, and the extremely long pygidial spines are also prominently showcased. The fine detail of the thick-shelled exoskeleton is quite noticeable. The natural butterscotch coloration of the fossil contrasts beautifully with the light, off-white colored matrix. The sleek trilobite is well centered on the large plate of limestone. This is a very striking specimen of this extremely aesthetic trilobite. (Comes with Dr. Chance's original reference photo and ID notes.)
