This is a classic Canadian trilobite. It is a complete Pseudogygites latimarginatus from Ontario, Canada. This specimen was acquired from the Richard Busch Collection, who originally acquired it from the Chance Collection. Busch was the Preparator/Asst. Curator at the North Museum in Lancaster, PA from 1965-1992. The bug is well articulated and has great detail preserved. The large trilobite is nicely showcased on the large plate of oil shale. This is a wonderful example of an excellent Pseudogygites found many years ago. (Note - Pseudogygites is similar to Isotelus, but not the same in a few obvious ways - Pseudos have ribs on the tail, eyes with large facets, and they do not possess a median suture crossing the doublure that the other asaphid trilobites have!). This is a very collectible example of Pseudogygites from the famous Busch Collection.
