This is a very large US trilobite. It is a massive Trimerus delphinocephalus from Middleport, New York. This is one of the rarer types of trilobites from the Rochester Shale. This specimen is complete to the tip of the tail and would be well over six inches long if the tail part was not shifted. The specimen has nice coloration and very good detail. The thick shell exoskeleton is well-preserved. The bug is beautifully showcased on the large, semi-squared block. The fossil is also very inflated and 3-D for this type. This is a pretty cool example of this very large US trilobite.
