Here is a very unusual grouping of trilobites from the Cambrian of China. This is a rare Arthricocephalus pulchellus multiple plate from the Changaspis layers. This ovoid trilobite is totally different in appearance to the Changaspis found in the same formation. These tiny bugs (less than 1/4 of an inch long!) are wonderfully articulated and exhibit very fine detail (better than the photo shows). There are at least eleven examples on the plate (look closely!), including some growth stage meraspis and holaspis examples. This is an excellent mass mortality example of this uncommon Cambrian trilobite with rare growth stages preserved.
