This is a very rare trilobite fossil. It is a distinct Oryctocephalus reynoldsi from the famous Burgess Shale locality. This specimen is from an OLD collection, and was found DECADES ago. This complete trilobite has excellent detail preserved, which is very easily seen. The bug exhibits the paired pits on the glabella, which is one of the telltale features of this type. The trilobite is well displayed, showcasing its long pleural and pygidial spines beautifully. The fossil is well centered on the semi-squared plate of shale. This is a very fine specimen of a rare spiny trilobite from the classic Burgess Shale. (The trilobite is much better even than the photos show.)
