This is a rare, complete example of an extremely unusual US trilobite. It is a counterpart specimen of Isotelus iowensis from the Ordovician of Missouri. This trilobite is usually found in parts or disarticulated - this one is super-tight. The bug is almost perfectly prone. The trilobite exhibits nice detail - the eyes are easily seen. The light-caramel-colored trilobite contrasts wonderfully with the buff-colored matrix. The fossil is well showcased on the large block of limestone. This is an excellent specimen of Isotelus iowensis negative, one of the harder species of Isotelus trilobites to acquire.
