This is a very rare specimen of Bailiaspis elegans from Newfoundland. This specimen was collected by Steve Hess in June of 1988. This location has been closed to collecting for decades. The trilobite is nicely preserved on a large, natural piece of shale. The specimen exhibits fine detail, showcasing the unusual pustulated cephalon. The counterpart (negative) is included with this specimen (not pictured). This is an extremely rare genus and species of trilobite found decades ago in Newfoundland.
