This is a fine example of a classic US trilobite. This is a true Ceraurus pleurexanthemus from the famous Walcott-Rust Quarry near Trenton Falls, New York. This type is one of the original trilobites that Charles D. Walcott and James Hall made famous a century ago! This specimen is complete with both free cheeks intact. The trilobite has nice detail preserved, showcasing the thick shell exoskeleton beautifully. Anyone who knows anything about the history of US trilobites knows how important a trilobite from this locality is. This is a very affordable, complete example of a classic Ceraurus pleurexanthemus trilobite from New York State.
