This is a very displayable specimen of Asaphus (Neoasaphus) kowalewskii from the Middle Ordovician of Russia. These stalk-eyed trilobites have become one of the mainstays of every serious fossil collection. The trilobites are very nicely preserved. They have great color and contrast. The smaller one is almost prone. The larger specimen is somewhat folded down over the edge of the matrix. Both specimens display the long-stalked eyes extremely well. This is a great display specimen of these "alien-looking" trilobites.
