Here is a classic US trilobite from a location that is no longer open to collecting. This is a complete example of Odontocephalus aegeria from the Devonian of Pennsylvania. This specimen was acquired from a major trilobite collection. The trilobite is prone and nicely outstretched. The ''cowcatcher'' on the front of the cephalon is nicely displayed, and even the individual lenses of the eyes are clearly defined. Also, this bug has two tail spines, unlike most similar types which only have one (i.e., Dalmanites). The 3-dimensional fossil has nice contrast and is well showcased on the block of matrix. This is a real find - a complete example of this highly sought-after trilobite that has been in a collection for well over 20 years.
