This is a CLASSIC Lower Cambrian trilobite. It is a very distinct Mesonacis fremonti from the Latham Shale of California. This specimen was found in the 1970's and recently acquired from an old collection. The bug is almost complete, with the huge cephalon the main focal point. The detail and preservation of this trilobite is very nice. The bug is well inflated and 3-D, and has the natural pinkish-purple color that some Marble Mountans Olenellids are known for. This is a collectible Lower Cambrian Mesonacis (formerly Fremontia) fremonti trilobite that has been in a collection for decades.
