Here is a classic New York trilobite. This is a fine Greenops barberi from the Devonian layers near Buffalo, New York. The Greenops trilobite is complete and quite detailed. The broad genal spines are easily seen, and have been prepared free-standing on this specimen. The thick-shelled trilobite has great color and contrast. The trilobite is well displayed on the natural plate of shale. This is a nice display example of Greenops from the famous Penn-Dixie Quarry.
