This is a very nice specimen of Calymene niagarensis from the Silurian of New York. This trilobite is very inflated and wonderfully preserved in an outstretched position. The bug is well articulated and exhibits fine detail. The thick brownish-black exoskeleton of the bug contrasts beautifully with the grey matrix. The trilobite is very well showcased on the plate of shale. This is a fine example of Calymene niagarensis from the Rochester Shale.
