Here is a very large specimen of Viaphacops bomifrons from the Lower Devonian of Oklahoma. This trilobite is differentiated from Kainops by the smaller number of lenses in the eyes. This specimen is outstretched and wonderfully articulated. The bug is very inflated and 3-dimensional. The granulose glabella is well displayed. The left side of the trilobite is nicely preserved, but the right side is quite weathered. This is a large, prone example of this rare, small-eyed Phacopid trilobite that displays well from the side.
