This is a beautiful prone example of a "true" Phacops from Morocco. This is not the more common Phacops speculator. The specimen does not display the coarsely pustulose exoskeleton of a Phacops speculator, but rather a more subtle granulation. This trilobite has excellent detail. The individual facets of the eyes are near perfect. The specimen is prone and tightly articulated. The fossil has great color and contrast. It is nicely positioned on a natural block of Limestone. This is a terrific specimen of a "true" Phacops from Morocco.
