This is a nice Bumastus ioxus from the Rochester Shale of New York. This trilobite is complete and very 3-dimensional. The bug has the head slightly disarticulated, but both free cheeks are present and tightly attached, which is somewhat unusual. The dark trilobite contrasts well with the grey matrix. The fossil is nicely presented on the rounded plate of shale. This is a very affordable, complete example of this classic Silurian trilobite.
