This is an excellent spiny trilobite. It is a large Cyphaspis boutscharafinense from Morocco. This beautiful specimen was prepared in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab. This type of trilobite has a huge, bulbous glabella, long genal spines, and a long axial spine. The axial spine has been wonderfully prepared in a free-standing manner on this specimen. The bug also has very nice stalked eyes. And there are bumps and pustules completely covering the exoskeleton, especially on the glabella. The black fossil contrasts beautifully with the light-colored matrix. The trilobite is well showcased on the sculpted block of limestone. This is a wonderful display example of this spiny Moroccan Cyphaspis.
