This is a very well-prepared trilobite. It is a Metacanthina issoumourensis from the Devonian of Morocco. This distinct trilobite has been meticulously prepared from a cross-section under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in Colorado. The 3-dimensional bug is wonderfully articulated and exhibits outstanding detail. The individual lenses of the large, crescent-shaped, compound eyes are well displayed and easily seen. The natural, chocolate-brown trilobite contrasts beautifully with the lighter-brown matrix. The large fossil is beautifully showcased on the sculpted block of limestone. This is one of the best quality specimens of Metacanthina that we have ever prepared
