This is a great specimen of an unidentified Proetid trilobite from the Devonian of Morocco. This is the first specimen of this trilobite that we have seen. There is no mistaking that this is a Proetid of some type. However, the large, bulbous glabella is not granulose like most Proetus. It appears smooth, but under magnification, it does exhibit some very slight reticulations. The trilobite is almost perfectly prone and is extremely inflated. It has great color and contrasts well with the light-colored matrix. It is positioned on a large, rounded block of limestone. This is a very displayable specimen of a "new" Proetid trilobite from Morocco.
