This is an unusual Devonian fossil. It is a large Reedops deckeri from Oklahoma. This specimen was found in 1998 by Steve Hess and just now prepared. The trilobite is very detailed, and the compound eye facets are present. But there is more to the story. The right side of the trilobite has been weathered, which exposed a tiny Paciphacops pygidium underneath! Needless to say, this is a very rare occurrence. This is a very detailed Reedops deckeri with a baby Paciphacops tail under its shell.
