This is one big-eyed bug! It is a complete Coltraneia oufatenensis from the Devonian of Morocco. This is a very difficult trilobite to obtain in good condition - and this one is excellent! One glance will tell you what this trilobite is famous for - the huge compound eyes that are elevated above the glabella. This trilobite must have been able to see almost 360 degrees! The large faceted eyes preserve the individual lenses beautifully - one eye is perfect! The trilobite is very 3-D and extremely inflated. This wonderfully articulated specimen has striking, dark brown color and contrasts beautifully with the sculpted grey matrix. This is a very fine example of one of the most sought-after non-spiny trilobites from Morocco.
