This is a wonderful spiny trilobite. It is a fabulous Kettneraspis williamsi from the Haragan Formation of Oklahoma. This specimen was found by Steve Hess in 1996 and just now prepared in the EXTINCTIONS Preparation Lab. This outstretched trilobite is wonderfully articulated and exhibits excellent detail. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The long genal spines and the EXTREMELY LONG pleural spines are beautifully displayed. The protruding eyes are easily seen, and the ''fringes'' of the free cheeks are clearly defined. The inflated bug has great color and contrast and is well showcased on the HUGE plate of marlstone. And the lower left of the trilobite is slightly pathologic, which is quite unusual. This is a fantastic specimen of a spiny Kettneraspis from Oklahoma.
