This is a fine example of Nanillaenus latiaxiatus from the Ordovician of Canada. This is a very difficult trilobite to find, especially in a prone position. Usually, the cephalon is tucked down or the trilobite is enrolled. This specimen is prone. Although there is some crushing to the exoskeleton (normal for specimens from this formation), the specimen is nicely articulated. The trilobite has good color and contrast. It is well positioned on a semi-squared block of limestone. This is a good specimen of a rare trilobite.
