Here is an interesting trilobite from an old collection. This is an example of Mesonacis fremonti (?) from the Marble Mountains of California. Trilobites from this site are quite rare, especially this type. This trilobite exhibits very good detail. The individual thoracic segments are well displayed, and the cephalon is easily seen. There is also a huge cephalon preserved on the plate. This is a rare Olenellid trilobite from this classic location.
