This is a very displayable spiny trilobite. It is an undescribed Leonaspis from Morocco. This specimen was prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in Colorado. This trilobite is different than most Leonaspis. It has a very triangular body. The genal spines and pleural spines are relatively short compared to the HUGE third pleural spines. These spines extend well past the tail spines. This specimen has been lab prepared leaving these long pleural spines, genal spines, occipital spine, and bristle fringes of the free cheeks free-standing. This is a professionally prepared specimen that is of museum quality. It is a beautiful example of this rare spiny trilobite.
