Here is a very unusual trilobite association. This is Eoharpes sp. and Cheirurus (Crotalocephalina) gibbus from the Lower Devonian of Morocco. It has been quite a while since we have seen a decent specimen of an Eoharpes trilobite. Harpid trilobites are very rare and among the most collectible trilobites in the world. This type has an extremely broad cephalic brim with many pits and corrugations. The bug has many thoracic segments and a tiny pygidium. This trilobite is inflated and displays excellent detail. The Cheirurus is also top quality and beautifully preserved. The tail spines and hypostoma (mouthplate) have been prepared free-standing. Both ancient arthropods have excellent color that contrasts extremely well with the light-colored matrix. This is a very unique offering of an extremely rare Eoharpes and very 3-dimentional Cheirurus.
