This is a very nice US trilobite. It is a fine specimen of Reedops deckeri from the Lower Devonian of Oklahoma. Recent papers by A.Sandford (2004,2005) have reassigned this species to the genus Lochkovella. This Phacopid trilobite is wonderfully outstretched and nicely inflated. The trilobite has great detail - the very fine pustules on the glabella are still intact. The large compound eyes display the individual lenses very well. The trilobite has excellent color and contrast and is beautifully displayed on the large, squared plate of matrix. This is a very nice, prone Reedops from the Haragan Formation.
