This is one of the most collectible trilobite fossils we have ever had. It is a multiple Acidaspis cincinnatiensis / Gravicalymene sp. plate from Kentucky. This amazing specimen was microscopically prepared in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in Colorado. There are two Acidaspis and one Gravicalymene on the plate, along with a MYRIAD of fossil remains. One Acidaspis is preserved ventrally, while the other Acidaspis and the Gravicalymene are preserved prone and extremely close together! The Acidaspis measures 1 inch long overall, which is quite large for this type! The detail of this spiny bug is extraordinary, and the preservation of the shell is just spectacular - this is one of the prettiest Acidaspis cincinnatiensis ever found. The bugs are nicely associated on the huge plate with crinoids, bryozoans, brachiopods, trilobite parts, etc., etc. A single Acidaspis on a rock is fine, but 2 Acidaspis and a Gravicalymene on a 16" plate of Ordovician sea floor bottom is a special fossil you should only find in a museum.
