Here is a nice specimen of Kainops raymondi from the Lower Devonian of Oklahoma. This trilobite is differentiated from Paciphacops by the larger number of lenses in the eyes. This specimen is quite large and nicely preserved. The bug is exhibits fine detail - these is even a Cyphaspis free cheek preserved on its back! The compound eyes of the trilobite are quite evident, and the thick-shelled, caramel-colored trilobite contrasts wonderfully with the light-colored matrix. The large bug is well showcased on the block of sculpted limestone. This is a fine example of this large-eyed Phacopid trilobite from the Haragan Formation.
