As everyone knows, complete Carboniferous trilobites are quite rare and highly collectible. This is an outstanding triple specimen of Ameropiltonia lauradanae from the Mississippian of Missouri. This specimen is totally natural - the trilobites have not been composited. It is very rare to find three examples of this trilobite in such close proximity to each other, let alone having one be prone, one enrolled, and one a ventral with mouthplate! This type of trilobite has fine granules completely covering the exoskeleton, which are quite evident on the prone bug. The trilobite preserved in ventral view is also extremely detailed with hypostoma intact. All of the free cheeks are intact and tightly attached, which is highly unusual. The brownish color of the trilobites contrasts beautifully with the grey matrix. The fossils are beautifully presented on the squared plate of limestone. This is a top quality multiple specimen of Ameropiltonia lauradanae, showcasing a prone specimen, an enrolled specimen, and a ventral specimen with mouthplate - wow!
