Here is a nice specimen of Kainops raymondi from the Lower Devonian of Oklahoma. This trilobite is differentiated from Paciphacops by the larger number of lenses in the eyes. This complete specimen is inflated and nicely preserved. The bug is very 3-dimensional and exhibits fine detail. The granulose glabella is nicely displayed, and the compound eyes of the trilobite are quite evident. The thick-shelled, caramel-colored trilobite contrasts wonderfully with the light-colored matrix. The bug is well showcased on the edge of the limestone block, displaying the left side pleurons beautifully. And it is natural - it has never been "popped off" of the matrix. This is a very cool example of this large-eyed Phacopid trilobite from the Haragan Formation.
